Enemies to “ugh I can’t believe I’m saving your life” to “ugh we have to work together or the world ends but it’s not like I like you or anything” to “oh we actually connect pretty well but that doesn’t mean anything” to “I would die for you but don’t read too much into it” to “I’ll kill anyone who lays a finger on you” to Lovers.
All humans are weak because we will all fall for The Classical Fan Art Pose. I like to call it the “Character nonchalantly wiping blood away from their mouth/nose with the back of their hand, murderous intent in their eyes”. I would go as far as to say it is indisputably the hottest pose you could draw someone in. In this essay I will-
cliché but classic trope: when the person who almost died wakes up in a hospital bed, looks around and sees the object of their affection sleeping uncomfortably in the chair next to them because they haven’t moved in days.
you know whats a good trope? when a character sarcastically says “what should we do? [proposes outlandish and foolish plan]” and the next scene is them mid-execution of said outlandish and foolish plan
Another trope I forgot to mention that I love are traumatized characters experiencing love for the first time and not knowing how to cope with it. I just eat that shit up
especially when they’re like edgy, scary and mean. that moment where they get a tender hug, or a gentle rub or just someone complimenting them and their entire world view is changed. thats so good. i need more of it
Writing Advice: it doesn’t matter if an idea has been done before. It’s never been done by you. So long as you do it well, and in your own way, it’s a wonderful contribution.
