wjnterbucky:

you know what? I love italy in the summer. I love sitting in my garden reading a book those quiet mornings where the only thing you hear are cicadas singing. I even love those luscious afternoons where it’s so hot you can’t even breathe . I love small towns sagre, those village festivals where people eat too much and children go on carousels and at the end of the week there are fireworks. i love watching daytime reruns of movies and tv shows from the 80s. i love empty cities in august because everyone left to go to the sea and idk this is one of my favourite times of the year

dolce and gabbana alta moda f/w 2018

okay but just to add in:

  • this is shot on the lake Como ;
  • the dress reprises the shape of old wedding dresses of Lombardy tradition ;
  • the headgear “needles” reprise too the traditional clothing and they are one of the most iconic things about the region ;
  • In general, the dress reprises the character of Lucia from the novel I promessi sposi (the Betrothed) as she’s introduced the day of her (not then happening but should have happened) wedding with the needles painting an halo around her face ;
  • The skirt also has a painting with Renzo and Lucia, the two mains on, and the title of the novel visible ;
  • The puffy sleeves also have two quotes of the novel, one  the incipit with the description of the Lake and one with the “goodbye” Lucia has to give to the lake, the mountains and her home as she escapes .

So this piece literally melts fashion and literature, thank you for coming to my ted talk !

I gleefully indulge in fun pasta shapes. No more penne for this bitch.

Ship, may I interest you in some ‘priest stranglers’? That’s what their name means.

Italy I have some questions.

Mostly, how did you get so good at naming food?

Too much Catholicism.

@sarashouldbestudying you’re right but did you have to say it.

Yes I did.
