I actually found out about the new season a few days ago, it comes out in july??? (here’s the trailer) I didn’t realize how much I’ve missed this show until I saw Gilbert and Anne’s lovely faces. *___*

And I don’t mind at all. Let’s ramble!

Okay okay so it’s been more than a year and I might not remember everything perfectly, but. I’VE LOVED THE FIRST SEASON. I’ve never read the books sadly (something I will definitely fix sometime in the future) but I’ve watched the anime back when I was a kid and this story always had a big place in my heart. So I was really looking forward to it! And??? It was great??? There was not a single thing I didn’t like.

Amazing cast, amazing script (”My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes.” omg Anne is such a dramatic girl I love her???) great secondary characters! Please let’s talk about aunt Josephine, who’s mourning her girlfriend when we first meet her and she’s generally awesome, or Mrs Rachel I-rather-be-pregnant-than-menstruating Lynde, and Marilla that-explains-all-the-children Cuthbert, or that sweet cinnamon roll of Matthew??

AND. Let’ not forget the young boy who redefined my concept of “husband material” – GILBERT BLYTHE. He’s just so genuinely in love with her from the moment he saw her being harassed in the forest (”Need anything else? Any dragons around here need slaying?” CUTIE, where were you when I was 13), and he gets literal heart eyes when he finds out they’re in the same class. HE CALLS HER CARROTS AND STARTS BOTHERING HER BECAUSE HE JUST WANTS HER TO PAY ATTENTION TO HIM?? But see he’s always sweet and smiles at her and he’s not a bully, he knows when to stop. Every time he looks at her he just… smiles and has this soft expression… that gets me every single time… MY HEART.

I’ve loved Anne’s relationship with Diana, and the one with the Cuthbert siblings – they’re such a great family and Anne came from a sad past and an even sadder family and you can see how much she’s excited by this new world she’s living in, she can’t stay quiet or still for more than three seconds (mostly because she has to breathe at some point), she’s always talking and honestly I’m the opposite but I can appreciate her happiness for living, lol. She’s such a great character, and her flaws just make me love her more.

Oh boy I could probably talk about this for a week if you let me but I’ll stop now before I start annoying you, lol. I have so many feelings about this show I’m honestly starting to tear up just thinking about it?? I just can’t wait to watch the next season ♥♥♥
